Hi, I'm Sharni, Quiet by nature, but warm and bubbly when I am in my element, I am a thoughtful dietitian who loves music, Formula 1 (Go Oscar!) and spending time with my cat, Taisho. I am deeply passionate about exploring ways to find more ease in the way we relate to food, our bodies, and health.
I was vegetarian for most of my childhood and adolescence, and vegan for a few years in early adulthood. I’ve since reintroduced meat and animal products into my diet. I still enjoy vegetarian and vegan meals, and I also value the flexibility and enjoyment that comes with a more varied way of eating, without moral judgement attached to food choices.I have struggled with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I understand what it is like to feel stuck and to wonder if life will ever feel "normal" again. This experience allows me to bring compassion and understanding into my work, while also recognising that everyone's experience is different.
As someone who can take things quite literally and to extremes, I have experienced how well-intentioned public health messaging can be unhelpful and distressing. Although I feel I have been lucky to have had a mostly positive relationship with food throughout my life, I have certainly been affected by messaging about food, bodies, and health. I am a curious listener and take time to understand your unique experience, not just how things appear on paper.
Outside of work, you will usually find me cooking, doing yoga, or watching a movie or show. When I get the chance, I also love going camping and skiing.
